More recently the pub was nominated as "Pub
of the Year" as part of the Manchester
Food & Drink Festival 2008. As well as being judged by
Manchester's Food & Drink professionals, the nominees
also received votes from the public.
We are delighted to announce that we were declared "Pub
of the Year"for 2008/2009.

The Arden is a gem of a pub,
an early 19th century coaching inn set on the edge of Stockport's
historic Market Place.
The Good Beer Guide describes the pub as "Grade II
listed & warranting a visit for the building alone" ,The
Guide continues " Note the fine bar, tiled lobby, grandfather
clock & splendid snug" Although we would be delighted
if you'd stay for a pint & a spot of lunch as well!
