Stockport Heritage Trust
We are fortunate enough to entertain the members of the Stockport Heritage Trust for a swift pint after work on most market days. The Stockport Heritage Trust is based in the Heritage Centre in St Marys Church, just over the road from the pub. A visit to the Centre is thoroughly recommended if you have any interest in the local history of this town. The group campaigned singlehandedly for many years for the restoration of Staircase House in the Market Place, left to rot for decades. The House is now restored & the scheme is a huge success and all credit to Steve Cliffe & his colleagues for their dogged persistence in the face of decades of bureaucratic apathy & financial neglect. The group is always organising heritage events in the town & is always eager to recruit new people who may wish to take an active role in these fun events.Visit the Stockport Heritage Trust at http://stockporttrust.blogspot.com/.
Copies of "Stockport & District Heritage", the quarterly magazine of the Trust are for sale widely &also behind the bar of the "Arden Arms", priced £2.40

The Courtyard at the "Arden Arms"
As well as being used daily for lunchtime drinking & dining in the summer, the courtyard of the "Arden Arms" is also a fabulous space for outdoor events. Who can forget Joe's 60th Bash in April 200? & Andy's 40th the same year! We regularly host parties in the courtyard in spring & summer. Please get in touch if you've got a special birthday or anniversary coming up. We will be happy to arrange all the details & can provide a buffet & marquee for you & your guests.
Over the last few years we have hosted a series of gigs by up & coming rock bands organised by John & Mike at Leaf Promotions. Gigs will begin again in Summer 2007. See more details on http://www.leafpromotions.co.uk/
